Default Saving in earlier adobe formats

I can use Distller to create a pdf in earlier versions of acrobat, but when I save those distilled files using Acrobat 6 I can't specify other versions, such as 5 or 4. Can this be done, and does it need to be done for users who may not have version 6?

Another option is to select File > Reduce File Size... and then choose
