scaling in In Design
My question is if an image correction software application (Inteletune) is used to make tone
correction then that image is imported into In Design or any app for that
matter at a smaller or larger size should I not expect to see image degradation
as I would in Photoshop with scaling without resampling.

Re: scaling in In Design
Please be a little more discreet with your question. This may be the reason you have not received a response.
If your original image is a vector image, you should not see degradation. If Inteltune is a Raster application like Photoshop is, then yes, you will see degradation when you scale the image up in percentage.

Re: scaling in In Design
sorry for the lack of information. I'll clarify what is going on.
I have an 8x10 digital halftone whis is processed through Inteletune which sets end points and make tonal corrections.
If I now use that image in In Desisign and place it in a picture box larger or smaller that the original picture would I expect to see degredation in my file.

Re: scaling in In Design
I don't have experience with Inteletune so I can not speak for what is going to happen when you process an image through it but I can say that if you place the image in a box larger than the original you will not see pixelization unless the box is at over 120% larger and the resolution of the original is something less than 150 DPI.
If the original is saved at any resolution including 72 DPI and you put it in a smaller box, reducing the percentage by scaling down your image will not reduce but it will appear to improve.
If you need to make the placed image significantly larger than 8X10 you should scan the picture in at a resolution of no less than 300 DPI.
Never scan images at 300 DPI or higher if that kind of resolution is not needed. It's a waste of time and the file size will be much bigger at higher resolutions.
Remember to only scan at higher resolutions if you are going to need to re sample the image UP!
Note: Simply increasing the resolution of an existing image scanned at a low resolution will not improve the quality.
Does this help?

Re: scaling in In Design
You should learn how to use the entire Creative Suite. I would really help your workflow issues. I recommend taking a look at purchasing the TotalTraning CDs. It would teach you very quickly.
If you purchase the entire CreativeSuite it includes a CD with Video Workshop Videos from TotalTraining.
~Good luck
