scaling models - Macromedia Director 3D

hello; the scale command only offers scaling along the x,y,z axis's; is it possible to scale along some other vector? my models are coming from Rhino --> LW --> .w3d; within the w3d's, the models ARE NOT aligned/positioned relative to world(x,y,z)/world(0,0,0); I can add to my w3d a couple of null points that I can use to establish a scale-axis vector and also scale base point; but then what ... does director have a way to scale along a vector relative to some point? thanks dsdsdsdsd...

    Default scaling models

    hello;

    the scale command only offers scaling along the x,y,z axis's;

    is it possible to scale along some other vector?

    my models are coming from Rhino --> LW --> .w3d;

    within the w3d's, the models ARE NOT aligned/positioned relative to
    world(x,y,z)/world(0,0,0);

    I can add to my w3d a couple of null points that I can use to establish a
    scale-axis vector and also scale base point;

    but then what ... does director have a way to scale along a vector relative to
    some point?

    thanks

    Any other vector can be generated in the XYZ coords performing different scale
    on each direction.
    But probably you're looking for model scale using a different pivot.
    In this case all you have to do is to create a group, set the desired position
    & rotation for this group, add the model as child and perform the scale on that
    group.

    cheers

    necromanthus, I will give this a try;

    effectively I will:
    - import a model ( in a w3d of course ) and with it I will import 2 null
    points ( pivot point and direction point for orientation );
    - in director build a group with positioning and orientation based on null
    points;
    - do the parenting stuff
    - scale group

    thanks
