    Default Scaling Problem!!!

All I want is when I click on an object or highlight some text it gives me the true size, what ever scaling i do. Why do I have to keep on clicking 'reset scale to 100%' in the Transform pallet?

    Any ideas?

Change your habitual approach. If you want to know the scale of the graphic in a frame, click on it with the white Direct Selection tool. Also, take a glance at the fancy INFO palette to see the effective resolution.

As for text, I'm not sure what you are doing. InDesign has several nuancedly different approaches. I often ctrl-shift-drag a frame with type in it to scale it larger. The text scales up along with the frame. More often, I use the Type tool to select the type, and size it to explicit point sizes in the Character palette or the Control palette (redundant places). Then, I might also adjust the frame with the black Selection tool. Either approach gives me true measurements.

Thanks Mike for trying to herlp.

However, I might not be explaining myself correctly. It would be easyer if I just did a print screen to show you the problems I am having with scaling. I am sure it is something simple that I am not doing or something in Preferenaces that I have not got activated.

Would I be able to email you a 'print screen' ? or anyone ?

    Thanks again

Could you post the screen print to a website so everyone can view it?

I meant a website you have FTP access to, so that you could post the link here, and anyone could view it.
