Scaling text boxes
I have say 20 text boxes which all need to be scaled by say 125%. Is it possible to select all and scale all at once, but have each box scale out from its own centre (so that effectively the position of the box remains the same)?

Select the Text Boxes. Edit *> Find & Replace -> Graphics. For 'Attribute'
select 'Scale', for 'Change in' select 'Selection' and type in the required
percentages. That should be just what you need, and it will work with any
graphic elements, not just text.
These directions are based on Freehand 9.0.1, which is what I use, so it's
possible that the menu command has moved in later versions.

Re: Scaling text boxes
Interestingly enough, if you select all the text blocks and open the
Transform panel (in FHMX), then increase the Scale by any percentage, the
entire mass enlarges as if it were grouped. In other words it enlarges to a
common center point.
Using the F&R feature, however enlarges each text block on its own center
point. This could cause a problem with text blocks overlapping.
By the way, if you wanted to select ALL the text in the document, use the
F&R panel, click the Select tab, choose Object Type as the attribute, then
select Text from the drop-down menu.
