    Default Screen Refresh for Text

Suddenly my screen is not refreshing when I change font size or leading, etc from the tool bar. This is also true when making changes from within a paragraph style dialog window, paragraph rules dialog, etc. I have to click within the text frame to get changes to appear. Help.

A bad font may create this behaviour. Try 'saving as' trial document and replace all fonts with a known good one.

While it doesn't solve the issue that is causing the problem, toggling the rulers tends to force a screen refresh (default CMD+R).

What are your version numbers for OS & ID... etc.?
I'm just curious, because my redraw seems a little slower since updating to the most current versions.

DavidT on the money! Went to my backup drive (don't ya love it when you have that) and replaced all fonts. That fixed the problem. Michael, thanks for suggestion but gawd, I'd feel like I was working in Quark!
Chris, I'm on 10.4.7 with CS2 4.04. I can't honestly say things got slower with latest updates.

    Al,
Yes I agree. I think I was having some server issues, which was causing my mac to go a little slower than usual.

    Chris

EDIT: In fact I believe since updating it has been spooling to the printer much faster than before.
Which update has caused this, I'm not quite sure, but I'll take it!!!
    :-)
