Script for Isometric view - Adobe Illustrator Windows

Hello designers, Many times I need to mock up a product package by drawing the 3 panels and doing a scale, shear, rotate on the common corner point of the 3 panels. The numbers are always the same for a trimetric view, a dimetric view, etc. Does anyone know if there is a script that drives this tedious chore? Mike Witherell in Washington DC...

I think you might be able to create an action for that. You would probably have to put the three panels on separate layers, so the action knows where to look for them, then scale, shear and rotate them accordingly. I can't think of a way to put them together in the end off the top of my head but you could do that manually in about 5 seconds anyway...

    Edit:

When I wrote that post I didn't realize you can't record a "select layer" command in Illustrator as you can in Photoshop, which makes the whole thing a bit more complicated. Of course, if you just wanted to create a non-vector mock-up you could do the whole thing in PS, but that would kind of defeat the purpose I guess, unless you are switching back and forth between PS and Ill. anyway.

A workaround (in CS2 at least) would be to use the "Extrude and Bevel" effect in Illustrator. All you would need to do is make symbols of each of the visible surfaces, and assign them to the corresponding surfaces in the "Extrude and Bevel" dialogue.
