search engine
The Search Companion on my computer comes up constantly
when I'm working in programs. The main time is when I'm
in Microsoft Works Spreadsheet. If I change an existing
value in a cell, the Search Companion pops up and tries
searching. It also comes up sometimes when I'm in Word.
It is very annoying and I'm wondering how I get it to
stop? I've tried changing the setting of the Search
Companion, but it hasn't worked. Can anyone help me?

Re: search engine
Start registry editor (regedit32.exe)
Locate the DEFAULT value under the following key in the registry
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell
Click modify on the Edit menu.
Type NONE in the file data box and then click OK.
Quit registry editor.

Re: search engine
I tried the registry and it already had NONE in the box.
Can you think of any other way to fix this problem?
Thanks,
Jeremy

Have you run 'sfc/ scannow'? Also, Kellys may have a fix for this at

when i click on folders, instead of opening them, windows
opens the search engine asking me what I want to search
for in the folder I selected. It's very frustrating.

Re: Search Engine
I use to write my own search engines... That way they get customized
easier... You can write one that spiders like google... Hell, it even found
my private server... And there's not a single link ther afaik..
Now, is it for web or site search? If site, just get a MySQL table with a
longtext in it and then some varchars to store meta data... Or do it like
php.net does for function searching..

search engine
Hello,
I am interested in the ability to search for specific html files on the
server. What I mean by this is that after user enters name of the file into
the search box the flash search engine will search root folder and all
subfolders for all htm files that match the search criteria. Can it be done
with actionscript? If so any ideas how to get to it ?
Best Regards

what you want to be searching? Pages, database, etc?

Search Engine
hi,
I have created a search page using VBScript. I would like to know how you
display the text, that the user typed into the search text box.
For example:
You searched for: ? -what code do i put here?
If this helps, this is the code for the search form, that has a text field and
a 'submit' button:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
<form action="index02.asp" method="get" name="Search_Results"
id="Search_Results">
<input name="Search" type="text" id="Search">
<img src="../images/magnifiying-glass.jpg" width="28" height="28">
<input type="submit" name="Submit" value="Search">
</a><img src="../images/pagedesign-sliced03_07.jpg" width="7" height="28">
</form>
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--
Please tell me in the simplest way what i have to type into the code to get
the text that was typed into the search text field.
Thankyou
