SELECT - Microsoft SQL / MS SQL Server

I'm looking for a way to add 4 'default' values into the beginning of a select statement in a stored proc select * from tbl_new where id = id that would return 'me', 'you', 'something', 5 'me', 'you', 'something', 6 'me', 'you', 'something', 7 BUT, I would like to be able to have: '1', '1', 1,1 'me', 'you', 32, 5 'you', 'me', 12, 6 'me', 'asdgasgdaddd', 41, 7 I was thinking about just creating a temp table on the fly, inserting the defaut values, then insert the values from the first query THEN query the temp table :| Thoughts? :)...

    Default SELECT

I'm looking for a way to add 4 'default' values into the beginning of a
select statement in a stored proc

    select *
    from tbl_new
    where id = id

    that would return

    'me', 'you', 'something', 5
    'me', 'you', 'something', 6
    'me', 'you', 'something', 7

BUT, I would like to be able to have:
    '1', '1', 1,1
    'me', 'you', 32, 5
    'you', 'me', 12, 6
    'me', 'asdgasgdaddd', 41, 7

I was thinking about just creating a temp table on the fly, inserting the
defaut values, then insert the values from the first query THEN query the
    temp table :|

    Thoughts? :)

actually try since you need quotes around 1,

    Select '''1''', '''1''', '1', '1'
    union
    select *
    from tbl_new
    where id = id

    select *
    from tbl_new
    where id = id
    union all
    select '1', '1', 1, 1
    order by ...

In the above query the special row will sort
to it's natural location, if you wanted to make it
always be first (regardless of whether or not the other rows
are to be sorted) you could modify the query
to make it always be first.

Yup, that works and I bet involves fewer CPU cycles - thanks ;-)
