    Default "Select Object Tool"

Hello why is it that when i click on select object tool.. it doesnt do anything? It wont let me select the title to make changes - i.e. font change and size change? When I click on the "Touch Up Text Tool" it selects the whole document when I only wanted to select a part of it to make changes? Please help.. this is urgent.

I am using Acrobat Professional 6.0, and Windows XP

With Acrobat 5.0 I was able to select anything easily. I;m considering going back to acrobat 5.0

That's because it doesn't do that.

Acrobat 5.0 didn't have the Select Object tool. Both Acrobat 5.0 and
6.0 Professional have the Touch-up Object tool, and that is probably
    what you need to select.

Can't you select a piece of text after that, by dragging across it?

Ok, I'm sorry I'm not making this clear, in Acrobat 5 when you click on Touch up Text tool, it selects only one line, but in Acrobat Professtional 6.0, it selects the whole document which is NOT what I want. How do you get it to select only one line? Thanks so much for your patience.

Sorry, doesn't happen for me. When I click on some text it just draws
a box round it, but doesn't select anything until I actually drag the
    mouse over text.
