Default Select opion - extracted from db

I want to be able to make a pull down menu - like the <select feature of
cities. I have a database with users and the cities. I want allow people to
do a search on a specific city from the database. However, the list of cites
    come from a database.

I'm thinking : counting records with a city names. then in the output, use
a select with the cities. I want to show the cities available with duplicating
them. For example - cites - Boston, New York, Charleston.... There could be 10
people from Boston but I want boston to show up once in the select.

    Does this make sense?

Default Re: Select opion - extracted from db

just do a DISTINCT in your query so it will get every different city name?

    SELECT DISTINCT CityName
    FROM TableName
    Order By CityName

    Is that what you're after?
