Re: Selection problem.
How do you select hair in a portrait? Sometimes I want to add changes to a background and the hair is always problematic. Sometimes it looks like cut out with scissors. Applying a feathering of about 40 allows me to change the background a just little without looking too obvious, but probably there is a better way.

Re: Selection problem.
In full photoshop that is usually done with the extract plug-in or with a color range selection. Another way to go would be editing your selection with the mask brush and zooming way in. If you are masking, use the alt (option on Mac) key to switch between painting a mask and erasing the mask.
