selection tool locked

    Default selection tool locked

    My selection tool will not let me resize anything. I was playing around with graphics and desings and somehow got locked. Wen I hold cursor over selected art, it says anchor. I can move around on page, but not resize.
    This is effecting all designs on all pages in my program.....PLEASE HELP!!!!

    Dianne,

    What does your curser look like? Does it look like white filled arrow? That is the Direct Selection tool. You want the black filled arrow for Selection tool and should see the object's bounding box. You have also turned on your Smart Guides which is telling you what your curser is hovering over.

    Use the Selection tool (black filled arrow) and click on the object. You should see the bounding box. Hold down SHIFT key (to constrain) and pull or push to increase or decrease the size. If no bounding box, then go to View on tool bar (not box) and click, then click SHOW BOUNDING BOX and follow above. To turn off the Smart Guides, either Control U or go to View, Hide Smart Guides and click.

    I just experienced the selection tool lock up and for illustrator cs4 I went to veiw show binding box. some how I had hide bounding box. I don't know how it happen but thanks for help on this blog.
