self-writing field

Hi,

I'm trying to make a script, which will build up text in a field. It's for an animation, i want it to look like someone is typing the message, so u see each character appear one at a time. I first tried to asign new value to a variable i put into a field. But that that's such a ton of coding, i figured there's gotta be a better way to do it; like have 2 varables and for every frame it copies +1 character more from variable a (full text) to variable b (thing displayed in the field). But i have no idea how to code it like that, can anyone please help?

Window->Library Palette choose the "Text" one and try the "Typewriter effect.
