sending as email attachment
I'm new to Publisher so hope this isn't too simplistic but I can't seem to find answer to following. I'm intending to write a Newsletter in Publisher that will be free for educators. I'm assuming the easiest way to send it will be will be to "File-Send email-Send Publication as Attachment" (if this isn't the easiest please let me know - thanks). I tried to do this and the dialog box came up Untitled-Message (HTML). I filled in email address but when I pressed "Send" - nothing has happened. My normal email program is Microsoft Office Outlook and I have also switched to Outlook Express but same thing happened. Any advice appreciated. David

Re: sending as email attachment
If you send a Publisher file as is then the receiver will need Publisher to
open and see the file. Most folks will make a pdf document from the
Publisher file and send the pdf as an attachment. The free Adobe Reader is
readily available and is used to open pdf documents.
If you don't have a program to create pdf documents and you want to use this
method, you will need to make a choice from the many brands of pdf creating
software available these days. The first name in pdf is Adobe. But it comes
with a hefty price tag, $250+. Fortunate for all of us there are
alternatives, freeware, shareware and other commercial products. After
comparing 6+/- programs (free, share and commercial) I selected PDF-XChange
a modest priced commercial program that gives excellent results. You are
welcome to see several dozen Publisher 2000 files that were converted to pdf
using PDF-XChange at:

Select the Il Messaggio Archive page, any underscored date. The year 2004
has files created with version 3 and prior years with version 2.5. Note
PDF-XChange web site below and download your own trial copy.
Select a tune and enjoy the visit.
Ciao,

Re: sending as email attachment
Thanks Don for a very helpful and prompt reply - I'll research and work on it - thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I realised once I posted here that it should have gone to General Questions so if you see it there it was a beginner's error - thanks again. David
