    Hi Tapasvi,

    I am sorry for that I have not clarified this issue. The "internet mail
    service" should be configured in the exchange server.

    On the other hand, I have done more research regarding this issue and I
    think that we should check the following firstly. Would please tell me if
    you are testing the following sample?

    HOWTO: Send E-mail Programmatically with System.Web.Mail and Visual Basic
    ..NET
    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;314201

    How do you replace the following statement?

    SmtpMail.SmtpServer = "MySMTPServer"

    Have you tried to use

    SmtpMail.SmtpServer = "smarthost"

    Please try to perform the steps on the above Knowledge Base article and
    test the "smarthost".

    Please update me your testing result at your earliest convenience.

    Default RE: Sending email from ASP.NET

    Jacob,

    I tried the VB 101 Samples code on

    "VB.NET How-To Send Mail"....

    and i replaced the

    SmtpMail.SmtpServer = "MySMTPServer"

    with "Name of Exchange server", "IP Address" and finally
    with "smarthost" all of them gives me the same message.

    Unfortunately i do not have access to the exchange server,
    nor i have permissions to do that.

    I have an application in ASP.NET, and i want to notify on
    certain action through email. Is there any other way that
    i can use other than changing a setting on exchange
    server ?

    Thanks,

    Tapasvi
