    Default Server Side Incldes

    Running Mac 0S10.4.6.

I struggled but finally managed to get my head around the testing server
utility in Dreamweaver 8. I'm doing this to try and make a logical progression
to get my web sites more dynamic. I'm using SSI fine on a remote server but
can't seem to get it to parse .shtml files on a local testing server (included
files simply don't show). On the pre installed Apache server (httpd.conf file)
I've enabled PHP (thinking further don the line here) and I've ensured that the
include modules in the httpd.conf files are 'activated'. I am new to this so
I'm feeling my way around but Anybody got any pointers as to why this isn't
    working?
    Many thnks - in anticipation!
