set LD_LIBRARY_PATH under single user mode with solaris 8 How to set LD_LIBRARY_PATH under single user mode? After login in to single user mode with solaris 8, I execute this script, but the LD_LIBRARY_PATH is still not set. #!/bin/sh LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/bsmbootstrap/lib export LD_LIBRARY_PATH I still have to type in manually. Please help. Thanks....

    How to set LD_LIBRARY_PATH under single user mode?
    After login in to single user mode with solaris 8,
    I execute this script, but the LD_LIBRARY_PATH is still not set.

    #!/bin/sh
    LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/bsmbootstrap/lib
    export LD_LIBRARY_PATH


    I still have to type in manually.
    Please help.

    Because it sets LB_LIBRARY_PATH in the shell the script
    runs. The environment for that shell disappears into
    the bit bucket as soon as the script finishes. You
    need to *source* the script, like so:

    .. scriptname
    ^
    (Note period and note space)

    "Elegant"??? It does the same thing as /etc/ld.so.conf in Linux, and that
    is a pretty P-poor kludge for linking binaries properly in the first
    place.
