Setting Acrobat Professional 6.0 as default pdf in Mac OS X Tiger
I have loaded OS X Tiger onto my PowerBook laptop. Since loading the new OS, the default pdf is the pdf application with the Mac OS. I can't figure out how to set Acrobat as the default pdf application. In the past when I have upgraded Acrobat a dialog box asks if I want Acrobat to be the default pdf application. I have looked in the help indexs in Acrobat and Mac help and can't find the answer. I would appreciate any help.

Re: Setting Acrobat Professional 6.0 asdefault pdf in Mac OS X Tiger
Thanks MarkATS for the hyperlink, had the same problem with my new Mac. Now solved. Also regarding Acrobat Reader, I was surprised that it was not installed (had to go to Adobe Web site to download and install) even after installing Adobe Creative Studio. Adobe should have had installed it automatically, no?

No, definitely not. Creative Suite includes Acrobat, and Adobe don't
recommend or support having both Acrobat and Reader on the same
machine.

I'm not so sure that's an issue in OS X. Any official word on that? Mark?

Re: Setting Acrobat Professional 6.0 asdefault pdf in Mac OS X Tiger
It's fine on both Windows and Mac. potentially a bit more troublesome on Windows, but certainly workable.

Hmm - multiple Windows installations have caused me major headaches in
the past - especially when people install old Readers after a new
version of Acrobat Professional is already installed ...
I know what Dov's reply would be ;-)
Cheers!

Well, I would never reccommend that.

Also, the Book Shelf/Collections can 'sputter' when attemting to view purchased eBooks in both Reader and then in full Acrobat (or vice versa) on the same machine....it can cause "issues", to say the least.
