Setting Return Path Application Wide - Coldfusion Server Administration

Hello, We were running CF 5 on our old server, and everytime we did a mailing using our custom built cf mailmanager, the failed deliveries would be routed to the correct address, a bounceback notification service. We switched to CF 7 back in January, and we just recently discovered that our bounceback notification service stopped reporting bounces at the same time. I went into the mailmanager and found the <cfmail> tag that was actually doing the sending, and included a failto attribute, and now it's working fine. The problem is, we're sending out from different places all over our site. ...

Default Setting Return Path Application Wide

    Hello,
We were running CF 5 on our old server, and everytime we did a mailing using
our custom built cf mailmanager, the failed deliveries would be routed to the
correct address, a bounceback notification service.

We switched to CF 7 back in January, and we just recently discovered that our
bounceback notification service stopped reporting bounces at the same time. I
went into the mailmanager and found the <cfmail> tag that was actually doing
the sending, and included a failto attribute, and now it's working fine.

The problem is, we're sending out from different places all over our site. Is
there an application wide setting, or a global setting, for CF7, that we can
set so that EVERY mail we send will have the appropriate return(reverse)-path?

    Thanks!

Not that I know of. However you could make an emailService component that could
be called whenever you need to send out an email rather then having cfmail tags
spread throughout your application. This way you would have only one point
where the cfmail tag is actually used and you could define global settings
within it. Basically you would pass the email parameters (to, from, boby etc)
to the mailService and let it handle the actual cfmail call.
