Setting text with Illustrator incredibly slow.
G4, Dual 533, 1.5 Gb RAM
Illustrator CS
For various reasons, I'm not using Quark for a project - I'm producing it in Illustrator. Most text changes take forever. - I mean rainbow wheel spinning for freakin' ever. On the other hand, Saves are fast. Is there anything I can do to speed up text-actions?
Thank you in advance to all.

Re: Setting text with Illustrator incredibly slow.
If you have paragraph styles applied to the text that can slow things up but since I do not know the type of changes but if they are not really large ones try the find and replace. It is not the best and it ids not the speediest feature you might also try to create a new document and do the corrections and then copy and paste.

Michael, the more advanced the features (OpenType fonts and options, Optical kerning, Everyline composer, Character and Paragraph styles, and so forth) AND/OR the longer and "denser" your type blocks, the slower edits are going to be.
