I am struggling to find out how to set up pitstop to preflight my document to check for trapping like overprint white rather than knockout? I don't want to be able to change the pdf due to overiding the setup in distiller (ie Compatibility) so if it does flag up anything I can change the quark 6 document.

    Could someone please help!

    cheers

When you stipulate trapping - this is different to overprint and
    knockouts ....

within Pitstop yuo can globally knockout white and have better control
    for overprinting black objects.

If this is not good enough then you can use the extended 'Actions List'
technology to check for the above and then produce a result which will
error the PDF document. This will work with fill and stroke categories.

I have looked into the action list and used knockout white text? I appled this to a document i set up which has overprint white in quark. I had the report selected and was hoping it would tell me the problem first but instead I think it changed the page and gave me no errors or warnings on the report. I want it to show me the error first so i know where to change the quark document.

please any help, I'm just getting to grips with pitstop??

It's a bit tricky but possible within an Actions List:

Select if Fill Overprint is ON
    Select Fill Color
    NOT
Log Selection [inform as 'WHITE text knockout')

This just errors any filled white text with overprint as an error and a
useful syntax alongside ... It can be built to provide an error if both
fill and stroke are incorrect ...

If you wish please email me so I can send you the .eal file ..
