    Default Sharing one calendar/contacts

I have Small Business Server/Exchange Server set up
running three PC's and a laptop and a small law firm.
The three PC's belong to the support staff and the laptop
to the attorney. I need to be able to set up a
calendar/contacts so that everyone is making appointments
on the same calendar and has the same contacts. I also
need it so that when the attorney disconnects from the
network and brings his laptop home, he still has his
contacts and can look at the appointments for the next
day. But the three other PC's also need to be able to
look at the calendar and contacts when the laptop is
gone. How do I do this?

    Thanks,
    Nick

You can either use public folders for this (& set up the laptop with an
offline file & sync the PFs as well, by dragging them to the Public
Folder\Favoritesfolder) so he can work offline, or you can share out the
individual mailbox folders you wish from within his mailbox, have him sync
to the OST file, and when he comes back in & connects the changes will show
up. Regardless of which method you choose, he needs to be storing all his
data in the mailbox and be set up with an offline file.

Note -this is a Windows server newsgroup -best to post in one for Exchange
    or for SBS.

You can create public folders for both calendar and contact information
within Exchange 2000 & 2003. Outlook Web Access (OWA) will allow your
remote users to connect to their shared contact and appointments when they
    are away from the office:

Ok, so I am pretty new at this. How do I set up public
folders and have him "sync" to them? I understand what
you are saying, I just do not know how to make it
happen. And sorry for the multiple post.

Create public folders in Outlook, of the type you want, and set the
permissions appropriately. Make the administrator the owner - I wouldn't
give anyone else owner rights; editor or publishing editor is usually
enough. Have him drag the public folder to his public folder\favorites and
then he can make them available offline for his sync to his OST file.
