shift and option keys broken
keyboard shortcuts. I am running panther 10.3.2 with illustrator CS and every morning when one of our designers loads there machines up there keyboard shortcuts are broken! I have read all the other links about this subject and there is no reference to this problem happening under panther. Our situation is that we are running networked homes, but we have given this indervidual user 4 new user id's and also given them a new computer! We have used a test id on them which worked fine on one user but when this certain indervidual used it he managed to break it within 30mins! Help

Re: shift and option keys broken
Try the below. This was a fix for OSX.2.5. Not sure if it does anything with Panther.
Solution 2: Deactivate authentication processes.
Deactivate authentication processes in the system preferences:
1. Log out of Mac OS X and then log back in.
2. Don't connect to SMB servers at startup. SMB servers appear in the Address field of the Connect to Server as "smb:/[server filepath]."
3. Start the Keychain Access utility in the Applications/Utilities folder, and continue as follows:
b. Click the Access Control tab. If the Unlock Keychain dialog box opens, click Cancel.
c. In the upper section of the Keychain window, select a volume.
d. In the Access Control panel, select Confirm Before Allowing Access.
e. Repeat steps 3c-3d for each listed volume.
4. Make sure that the screensaver isn't password protected:
a. Choose System Preferences from the Apple Menu.
b. Click Screen Effects.
c. Click the Activation Tab.
d. Select Do Not Ask for a Password.
e. Choose System Preferences > Quit System Preferences.

Re: shift and option keys broken
have updated his computer to 10.3.3 and made sure that he is connecting to servers via afp. Having screensaver password dissabled is not an option, due to the security that we have to have in place! But it seems to have worked updating him to 10.3.3!
