Re: Shockwave 11 will not install
I've had the same problem. Have the same operating system also. I talked to
customer service, who referred me to tech support, who gave me an id number and
referred me back to customer service, who thought there was not a problem. Said
I just had to click onto the install now button and it would work. I tried to
tell him that was the problem was that it didn't work and he hung up on me.

Re: Shockwave 11 will not install
I was having problems installing Shockwave 11 as well, but I finally got it to
work by downloading the Full version instead of the lite version. The problem
is that Adobe does not clearly and accurately point you to where to get this
file. I use Windows XP and IE 7. Here's what I did:
1) Uninstall Shockwave from your pc.
http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/shockwave/uninstall/win/sw_uninstaller.exe
2) Reboot
3) Install Shockwave 11 (Full)
http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/shockwave/default/english/win95nt/latest/Sh
ockwave_Installer_Full.exe
When installation is complete, Adobe will tell you that you've just installed
Shockwave 11.
After I did this and then tried to play a game on a website requiring
Shockwave that was giving me errors before, it successfully downloaded
additional Shockwave components automatically and I am no longer getting errors
of any kind.
Note: Always keep a copy of the Shockwave uninstaller and current Shockwave
..exe file in your Download folder in case you need to refer to it again in the
future.:wink;

Re: Shockwave 11 will not install
This did not work for me. I'm trying to use SW at Midway Classic Games, where
you can play older games like Joust and Defender for free using Shockwave.
Unfortunately, the SW 11 installation has screwed this up. I get the following
error when SW begins to launch: "Director Player Error - This application
requires an xtra (ArcadeEmulator2) that either does not exist or failed to
initialize properly. Please make sure the appropriate xtras are in the xtras
folder(s)."
I don't know how to check the xtras folder, or what to look for, or how to fix
it if I find it.
Shockwave 10 worked perfectly. Can I re-install it?
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I miss playing these old
games.
