Shockwave and animated GIFs
Hi,
I teach multimedia at a UK college.
Some of my students have used animated GIFs in their projects, which have been
saved as Shockwave files.
Creating Shockwave projects was a part of the design brief. We have the
educational version of Director.
The problem is that when the Shockwave files play in a web page a warning
message is shown and red lined rectangles replace the animations. The projects
work fine as projectors.
I didn't realise Director did this with GIF animations in Shockwave. Are there
any solutions to this problem?

Re: Shockwave and animated GIFs
GIFs rely on an xtra (I think) that may not be part of the standard
shockwave package, you might be able to set it up to load as needed by
having it in the modify/movie/xtras list set to download if needed.
For testing you could just manually add the xtra to a test system;s
shockwve xtras folder.
