Shockwave Downloads earlier versions When Viewing oldercontenct
I am trying to lock down shockwave 11 so it won't connect to the internet
behind the scenes. I was told that it invisibly downloads shockwave 8 and even
7 when you go to a webpage with that version of content. Is this true?
Also, is there a way to look at a site and determine what version of shockwave
is being displayed?

No. It might download Shockwave 10 "compatibility components", but it> behind the scenes. I was told that it invisibly downloads shockwave 8 and even

will never download 7 or 8
I'm not sure I understand your question. The version of Shockwave used> Also, is there a way to look at a site and determine what version of shockwave

for *display* is the version installed on your local machine. The
easiest way to determine which version a file was published for/to is to
examine the HTML it's embedded in, or failing that test it in Director
or various versions of Shockwave until you hit one that's too early.

Are you sure? I was told by my testers that it invisibly downloads 8 , and
even 7.
It seems that today's version 11, installs both 11 and 10 from the getgo.
I installed it w/ my nic disabled and it still installed 10.
Can't we just install 11 and that is it?
