Re: Shockwave Installer Error
Now I've finally installed shockwave in IE7, but I need it for firefox. When I
attempt to do anything that requires shockwave in firefox, the shockwave

is or can help me?

Go to your user accounts. Then click on User Account Control. Turn it off and wa la u have access to every part of your computer. (be u an administrator that is)

Unfortunately, that's not quite true (voila!): in fact, Vista's User
Account Control continues to run in limited capacity, even after you have
turned it "off". There are still things you can't access directly, even as an
administrator. I'm not sure whether this will help with Bill's particular
issue, but turning off UAC isn't quite the magic switch it's portrayed as here.

Re: Shockwave Installer Error
After going back and forth with Adobe Texch Support twice (on same Shockwave
install error - Vista), I got this really discouraging reply quoted below.
Having built a company on creating Shockwave (and now Flash as well) games
since the Beta of Shockkwave 1.0 in December of 1995 . . . this is really
disappointing.
Reply from Adobe was:
Please accept our apologies for the delay of our response. I understand
that you are having difficulty installing Shockwave player on your
Windows Vista machine. Unfortunately, the current Shockwave player
version is not supported Windows Vista platform. The
best thing to do right now is to let the engineers know about this by
filling out a feature reqest form at:

I hope this helps.

Re: Shockwave Installer Error
so I agree, they should have had this thing ready for vista. it pisses me off
when these multi million dollar companies dont think ahead.
I tried to install the player so I could add some content to my adult toy
website http://www.sexycornerstore.com but....lol ill have to wait. I wonder
how much they pay their employees to think ahead...hahah

hi ive got a vista ultimate 64bit i did what you said but it saying
Destination Folder acces denied it says you need permission to continue, and
there is 2 buttons 1 saying try again and 1 saying cancel. I keep clicking on
the try agin button but the windows closes and immediately pops up again what
do i do??:confused;[/q]
You need to be logged in as an admin. Are you?
This is also necessary to run programs using Flash based on an IE kernel, like
Ergo (http://www.yourergo.com ) or the FineTune player (http://www.finetune.com
).

Re: Shockwave Installer Error
IE7 for some hardware and software compatibility is not good, IE7 does not
support some of the game running , in the Vista install IE7 some pages
deformation, for example, http://catwebsite.googlepages.com/index.htm.htm not
normal shown in IE7 , I feel that not install IE7 temporarily.
