Is this the end of the line for Shockwave? I for one don't see much point in
using it to put 3d or anything else on the web at the moment.

Thats strange, ff seems to have run on every vista system I've tried it on. Maybe its the hardware.

One goes to Windows folder C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64 , and Copies the Macromed folder and adds to C:\WINDOWS\system32\
And then then player instal

i've read thru many of the repetitious posts, most not identifying what the
detailed "symptons" were/are. in my case, the shockwave full 11 completed the
install, after the download.

firefox shewed the plugin. adobe test site said 'download and install'. revo
uninstaller shewed it installed. asked revo the install location, gets error
message - not found in system32. he said, she said.

after a few late hours investigating, i searched my c:\ drive and found
shockwave fully installed in c:\windows\syswow64\adobe\shockwave 11. i had
read elsewhere about firefox\plugins needing a certain file - np32dsw.dll.
turns out plugins already have that file, which explains firefox addons.

so i thought, can't hurt, i copied a handful of the dll files in shockwave 11
folder to the firefox\plugins folder - not the system32 folder. closed all
windows associated with firefox. restarted firefox, flitted over to the adobe
test site, and voila, mission accomplished.

strangely, the missyhiggins.com site has only one message for me: download
flash player 10. i've passed the adobe test site. the thirty other musician
sites seem to function quite well with their offerings.

i hope i've helped one person and another will help me or missy resolve the
flash mystery.
