Shockwave won't install on Vista x64?
When I try to install (both web and standalone EXE) on my Vista x64 system, I
get the error
"Could not load the DLL library C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Shockwave
10\gi.dll". The application has failed to start because its side-by-side
configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more
detail.
Any ideas how I can get around this? Odd that it's trying to install a 32-bit
app in system32 instead of the SysWOW64 directory like it should...

Re: Shockwave won't install on Vista x64?
Adobe doesn't care about you or your problems. Go away.
To get around this problem you would probably have to disassemble the
installer and then place the dlls into the correct folders yourself. Adobe
appears uninterested in doing anything. I'm kind of pissed off, can you tell?
On the plus side this is a great opportunity for a competitor to take advantage
of Adobe's incompetence.

Re: Shockwave won't install on Vista x64?
Just copy the directory structure from the XP system - it'll work fine on Vista x64.

Re: Shockwave won't install on Vista x64?
Thanks, I'll try it. When you say copy the directory structure, do you mean set up a folder the same as xp has it in system 32, then put all the files in that folder?

Re: Shockwave won't install on Vista x64?
You want to copy the folder of C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Shockwave 10 from your XP machine to your VistaX64 machine.
