You can click the "eye" by each layer.

Re: shortcut to show/hide current layer?
thanks, what i meant though was is there a keyboard shortcut to show/hide the layers. but - having said that, i can set up an action and assign a hotkey for it - that seems to work.
thanks anyway

Re: shortcut to show/hide current layer?
If there is a short cut option, it will show next to the option in the drop down menus, most of them any way.

Re: shortcut to show/hide current layer?
thanks, but like i said, i have made a custom action with a function key that will now trigger them. have made F12 pop open image size & F11 open canvas size, well usefull - see here <http://www.felixcorke.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Untitled-1.gif>

Re: shortcut to show/hide current layer?
Nice one Felix ;)
Its probably quiker for me to use my mouse than to hit a F key, strange, I dont realy use function short cuts in photoshop, But when using Corel im always using them, and its got nothing to do with if I know the short cut or not. Each to there own.

Felix:
You've already figured it all out. There are no native shortcuts for show/hide layers, so you have to use actions.
BTW, for an action set that includes many of the frequently used commands (including some in your set and show/hide layers), have a look at my Extended HotKeys action set <http://user.fundy.net/morris/redirect.html?photoshop2.shtml>.
