In my last IBM training course the teacher told me, it is possible (in
4.3.3 too) and I can learn it in an AIX course.

Not strictly true, there is a way to shrink filesystems, but there
isn't an AIX command.
You can restore from mksysb and use the shrink filesystems option.

Or for filesystems that aren't 'system' filesystems, you can always
backup, delete, recreate, restore.

There should be a way, but it's a bit risky so the most recommendet way is -
depending on which filesystem - reinstall from mksysb with the
shrink-option or save the FS to anywhere else remove - recreate and inflate
the FS again.

Or have a look at http://www.compunix.com/prod/reduce.vs, where a utility is
offered.
