    Default Shutdown log location for server '03

    Anyone know where the shutdown log is that list all the
    comments that you enter when you reboot or shutdown
    windows server 2003? thanks.

    We are using Shutdown Event Tracker to specify a reason for every
    reboot. But, where are these messages stored, so I can read them?

    They are stored in the System Event log, with ID 1074. To list only
    these messages, follow these steps:

    a.. Go to Start, and then Run
    b.. Type: eventvwr and press ENTER
    c.. Click on System in the left pane
    d.. Select View->Filter
    e.. In the Event ID text box, type 1074
    f.. Click Ok
