signature with Verisign Digital ID?

Is it possible to use a Verisign Digital ID as certification or signature in Acrobat 6, or if not 6 then 7? When I go to Advanced > Manage Digital IDs > My Digital ID Files > Select My Digital ID, then Click on Find Your Digital ID File, the default location is user/Library/Acrobat User Data/Security/, and of course there is nothing there. If I navigate to the Verisign file that I downloaded, ending in .p7s, it is not recognized. If I navigate to my keychain, it is not recognized. As far as I can tell, there is just a complete disconnect between the keychain and Acrobat, but hopefully I'm missing something.

I am aware of the GeoTrust CDS alternative, but it is beyond both my needs and my means.

I think you need a .p12, or .cert or .p7c file
