simple task in Flash - Macromedia Flash

hello, I love Flash but it is a real pain getting started with it. I started with a scene that has a little green ball in frame #1. I put in two movie clip events for the ball. I put in an ClipEvent (onLoad) and ClipEvent (enterFrame). The load routine read from an xml file and stuffed text into an array. Default simple task in Flash

hello, I love Flash but it is a real pain getting started with it.

I started with a scene that has a little green ball in frame #1. I put in
two movie clip events for the ball. I put in an ClipEvent (onLoad) and
ClipEvent (enterFrame). The load routine read from an xml file and stuffed
text into an array. The enterFrame routine created instances of a movie
clip which displayed the text that was read in the XML file.

Everything was fine until I decided to add frames prior to where the green
ball was. Specifically, I added radio buttons that let a person select
options. After seeing four frames of these options the user has a
confirmation page show up with the selections made. Then a next button to
move the playhead forward to the frame with the little green ball.

However, while the onLoad event for the ball fires up the enterFrame routine
    is no longer ever executed.

I've been at this for hours trying to figure out why the enterFrame routine
for the ball, which now shows up in frame 6 (instead of frame 1 where it was
originally) never triggers. The ball is there on frame 6. What happened to
    the EnterFrame event?

Does anyone have any ideas? Many, many thanks for anyone who can help.

p.s., did I say I love Flash but it is murder to ramp up?

Its hard to say without the fla. I am guessing you have a MC running
and its looping round so it never get to the enterframe event. Cant
you use the button to gotoandplay the bit you want?

You dont say which version of Flash you are using, you need to debug
it and see whats going on you may find setting a variable to change on
each frame and check that as it will show you were its going to

Samuria, thanks for the reply. I got the answer from another forum and
    forgot to check back here.

i didn't put a "stop" command in the timeline where the clip appears. that
enables the load method to kick in.

    thanks,
