Simple verification question. Deadline this week. Thanks!!!
PDF conversion. Just want to verify that the ONLY / BEST way to convert a full page bitmap image in Photoshop to the SMALLEST pdf possible is to flatten the 300 dpi file and then save it as a PDF? The files are still quite large if I consider that they will be multi-page docs for download (100 - 200k per page, then I consolidate in Acrobat).
Any thoughts would be. Thank you!!
I use:
Acrobat 7 Pro: 7.0.0
Mac OS X 10.4.7

If this is going to be for the internet. saving images as .png or even jpeg insert into the document the create the pdf from the document. if its going to be web only anything over 150 dpi is wasted space. because web viewing is usually at 72 dpi. If this is to be for print documents at print press 300 dpi would be the smallest to get by with and have a quality looking document.

It needs some experimentation on your part, but with Photoshop there's a few other ways of creating a pdf.
1: In photoshop make your edits and save as a Tif. open the Tif in Acrobat and use the pdf optimizer to furhter reduce the file size.
For lot of files you cna create an action in photoshop and batch process the pdf optimizer in Acrobat.
2: Open image in Photoshop, make your edits, print to the Adobe PDF printer. (Set the settings of the pdf printer to press first)
Again pdf optimizer can be used to optimize the pdf further.
3: Open image in Photoshop, make your edits, save as EPS, open eps in Acrobat. Again pdf optimizer can be used to optimize the pdf further.
