Simplify hatch effects
Illustrator 10
Windows
2.4 Ghz processor
1.5 GB RAM
I used the hatch effects to create this "marble" texture, but it slows down my computer too much.
Is there any way to simplify this, better than the "simplify"?
I noticed there were a lot of lines that did not have color on them because they were actually part of a mask.
Is there a way to rasterize the mask or something like that?
P.S. my virtual memory is 1.5 times the physical memory.

Re: Simplify hatch effects
Hi, Rene
If there's enough memory, you can try selecting the masked group, outlining the strokes (Object>Path>Outline Stroke), and then applying the Merge filter from the Pathfinder palette (Shift-F9. Alt-click the Merge button to apply the filter instead of live effect). If there's enough memory, it'll merge the visible part within the Mask and crop the invisible one.
