Single Page PDFs Generator?

Hello All.

At work we have switched to a new printer for our magazines, newsletters and collateral. They have a wonderful online upload system, proofing system, it looks like this will be a great service provider. One huge drawback, they want us to upload our PDFs as single pages. This is going to create a huge time problem for those of us who have 64 page magazines.



Two Questions:

1) Is there a plug-in or script that would allow us to save files as PDF and have single page PDFs generated automatically?

2) Or, is there a way to open a multi-page PDF in Acrobat and save it so that it generated single page PDFs from on file?

(2) In Acrobat 7, choose Document > Extract Pages > Extract Pages as Separate Files.

Other options include MadeToPrint, a plugin for InDesign from <http://www.axaio.com> which gives you lots of control over file naming etc.

If you are creating PDFs by Distilling (rather than InDesign export), you might look at creating EPS files - which InDesign can do as a batch with auto-naming - saving them into a Distiller watched folder.

One other option you might want to look at is Synapse Prepare. Its a plug-in for InDesign and if you are using Acrobat Distiller, it creates single page PDF files with page numbers.

It can also flightcheck the PDF files it produces and gives a report of any/all errors found.
