Default Site Definitions did not tranfer

I installed DW MX along side DW 4 but the site definitions did not transfer automatically as Macromedia promised on my Windows 2000 machine. Is there a way for MX to recognize DW 4 site again?

I've read other questions on this but the answers are so vague that they haven't been helpful to me.

I've seen this software, http://www.joexx.de/DW-Exporter/ , but it makes no mention of being able to do transfer the information from an older version of DW to MX on the same computer.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I don't know why they didn't transfer. When I installed MX, it picked
up the DW4 sites on my Win2k machine. At any rate...

There are different utilities available from that page, one for DW4
and one for DMX. Use the DW4 version to export your site definitions
and the DMX version to import them.

Well, now it looks like it didn't work because the installation of MX deleted the Site Definitions in DW4. It sees none in 4 so MX wouldn't have them.

Using DW Exporter, I had to export the definitions from another computer, then import them into the Dreamweaver on the problem machine. Thankfully, I had quite a few definitions on the machine - I still don't have them all back.

Those poor souls that don't have any other computers will have to mess around with their registry - what an awful bug in the programming!

Thanks to all!
