Default Size Does Matter-can't change size of shapes

    Hi,

I had this problem with an earler version of Illustator and thought the new one wouldn't give me a problem. It is a simple problem really. If I create a square shape and decide I can't to change the size usually going to the corner will bring up a diagonal arrow and it is easy. No problem. Well now when I go to a corner it is the arrow without the steam and I can not change the size. Did I lock that option by mistake? Please help, it is very frusterating to have to create all new shapes or change the size under "transform"

    Thanks!

What colour is the arrow with which you are trying to resize the object?

Size only matters depending on the ... uh, never mind.

I'm sure you've hidden the bounding box, as Wade pooints out. But you should know, the best way to resize objects is to use the Scale tool. You don't have to have the bounding box turned on for that, and it's much more flexible.

"Size matters" and "Size doesn't matter" are tied for the number one position of my list of Phrases That Have Been Used Way Too Often. The only thing which might be more annoying is the ubiquitous burp in every ad for every kid's movie to be released in the past 3 years. (Apologies, Sarah)

But I suppose I'm not really contributing much to the discussion... ;)
