    Default Slackware 9.0 boot floppy

Just got my 9.0 disk set from Cheapbytes, and can't boot from the
CDROM (Can't find boot sector). I gather this is new, since I can
boot from their 4.0 set (and from BSD disks). Anyhow, it's not my
    CD/driver.

So, I follow the instructions, makedisk (after cp-ing the entire
kernels dir to my /tmp, since it won't exec from the CD) the
bare.i/bzImage, and cat the result (eof 1474560) onto fd0, but
after starting the boot from floppy it says "invalid system disk".

    Wtfo?

    Any ideas?

    Many TIA. :)

    P.S.
I tried the venerable dd if=bare.i/bzImage of=/dev/fd0. No go,
    no boot sector found.

Also tried a second floppy, of course. Both fdformats
    (fd0u1440) verified OK.

Hmmmm...I just cat bzImage > /dev/fd0 (as root, of course).

Caveat: I am not a Slackware expert.

I think two components are required: kernel and root filesystem.
If you are having trouble booting from CD, then create the
complete set of 3 floppies (boot and root). The floppies for the root
    filesystem are install.1, install.2

Boot from kernel floppy: linux dd

And this will prompt for the next 2 floppies.
