The advice I got for the same machine, same problem, worked perfectly.
Turn off the computer; press the (power manager) reset button located
beside the modem jack, then wait at least 5 sec and restart.

    Good luck.

    Hi

Does this information apply to the Lombard as well as the Wallstreet?

Which end of the drive do I need to sheild? Is it the end near the
CPU and memory cards or is it the end near the IDE interface and the
out side of the laptop casing. The hard drive casing for the Lombard
is a little different to the wallstreet and I cannot determine from
the picture at the referenced web site which end to sheild.

I discovered my memory problem is realted to a faulty simm.

    Thanks
