Slideshow Zip Encoding

In creating a slideshow you have the option of going to the "Advanced" dialog. You can set the encoding for JPEG or for ZIP. Setting the encoding to ZIP does not produce zip files. In fact it doesn't do anything. Why?

Both methods are ways to produce PDF files that are compressed to some degree for file size. Zip and Jpeg in this case are simply two different methods of compression, but will still produce PDF files and there will be no appartent difference to the user. I believe that JPEG produces smaller files, but can have some image degradation, while Zip is losless, but will give you a larger file.

Yes, but why isn't the ZIP suffix appended?

Alan,

It is not a Zip file, it is a PDF with Zip type compression. Zip in the case refers only to a compression method, not a file type.
