    Default Slow eps file lists

InDesign CS is extremely slow on showing the list of files in the file-dialog when placing a file by accessing folders with a large number of eps files.

Some process seems to try to acces all the files (for thumbnail generation or something ?) and utilizes the processor 100% - making it hard to even scroll the file list in the file dialog.

I suspect that the CS package installs something at systemlevel dealing with eps files. However it is not the "illustrator thumbnails" option - as the problem persists even if this is disabled.

Does anybody know a trick to disable this "slow eps" phenomenon

Default Re: Slow eps file lists

It's the same with all image files: psd, tif etc. I experienced this with InD 2 having hundreds of bitmaps ready to import in the same folder. Seems the InD is trying to redraw all the icons of the files in folder before it is ready to import.
