I do weekly maint. on my server. One of the things I do is to shut down IIS and then compact and repair all my access databases. I end the maint. by rebooting the server. I have not had any problems for the past year. Now, however, when I reboot the server, more often than not, the ldb lock file for the main access db is not recreated. When this happens, IIS starts running slower and slower until in about 4 to 6 hours it becomes unresponsive and all my asp pages timeout. If I stop and restart IIS, then it starts all over and in about 4 to 6 hours it dies again. If I reboot the server and the ldb lock file appears then the server will run flawlessly until the next weeks maint. However, if the ldb file does not appear, then the server will once again die in about 4 hours

I don't know if the ldb file is a cause or a symptom, but there is a definate correlation between when it's not present and the server diing in 4 hours

Has anyone else experienced this?
