Slow to Repoot
Just trying to see if anyone else has experienced this and knows an answer. I
don't know if it's due to an issue with Cold Fusion or Windows Web Server 2003,
but when I Restart my new Dell Power Server, it takes almost 20 minutes to
reboot. Is this normal or is there something I can do to make this a little
quicker?
Thank you in advance for your help,

Re: Slow to Repoot
ColdFusion generally has nothing to do with the boot process.
I assume the server is remote, or you would probably see what is taking so
long.
No, I run Dell servers as well, and it takes a whopping 2 minutes.
To be sure - go to your Services Panel, and stop ColdFusion. This should take
30 seconds or so.
If it shuts down pretty quickly through your remote desktop connection, then
follow Microsoft Support''s stuff on "server slow to reboot" type searches in
their KnowledgeBase.

Re: Slow to Repoot
If you have raid arrays, I would check and make sure your not getting any errors with the drives or controller(s).

Re: Slow to Repoot
Thanks everybody. I will check on this. I know it doesn't take long for CF To
stop and start, so it must be a MS issue. A friend of mine who helps me with
this is in Guatamala, so I am going to wait for him to return before I attempt
anything. I will report back and let you know what I find.
If anyone else has an idea, let me know.
