Smooth animation in Flash - Adobe Flash, Flex & Director

    Help!
I was wondering what the secret is to getting elements to move really smoothly
across the page as I've tried both motion tweening and the timeline effects >
transition and tried setting elements to move across the x or y axis, but even
when I set the animation over a really large number of frames and do 120fps,
there still seems to be perceptible "shunting" across the screen and not the
really smooth movement I've seen in other people's swfs. The only smooth
movement I achieved was by using only 10 frames and setting the frame rate
120fps which literally just made the animation scream across the screen
    (obviously).

In other people's flash files I've seen all kinds of bouncing and sliding over
the screen. Is this done by a method other than tweening or timeline effects,
or as I somehow just using them badly and not mastering the optimum ratio of
frames and frame rate? Ideally I want quite slow animation that is nevertheless
really smooth. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but it's making my swfs look
    really amateur. Thanks. Richard

120 fps?! thats too high for a swf !

25 fps is well enough for 99.9999% flash movies.

if ur image is a vector images, try to put more frames in it (which makes it
moving slowly, the slower then smoother), and try to reduce ur workspace
    size(such as 550x400 rather than 800x600).

if ur image is a bitmap, its hard to move it really very smooth in flash. u
    need to put an AS to make it smooth: setproperty("", _highquality=2);

Agreed, 120 FPS is ridiculous. I've heard that we can't see anything
faster than 60 FPS. The key is probably putting more frames in your
tweens, which essentially slows them down when keeping the framerate
constant. If the tweens are skipping frames, your computer setup may
not be fast enough to handle rendering all the tweened frames.
