Default Smooth rounded lines in Freehand!!!

    Hey

When I open a new ducoment and start drawing, the round edges I draw become very "squared" and it looks a little odd. I want it to be like the lines drawn in the path lesson ( open path_direction in the lesson folder to see what I mean ) When i draw lines while having the path lesson doc open, the lines become smooth like I want them to. But what have they done to smooth them, in that doc? I suppose it's only one settings which should be changed.

What version of FH are you using? If it's FHMX go to Preferences: Redraw and
check 'enable anti-aliasing'. Does that help?

Also in FHMX, if you have a Raster Effect applied to the object and you are
zoomed in to a high magnification, you will see the individual pixels of the
    rasterized effect.

Sounds to me like you are missing an antialiased view of your artwork and your default view is not the Flash view... I forget the proper name of this view mode, as I have moved on to FHMX 11.01 and I've already forgotten a lot of the pitfalls and workarounds I used to resort to in FH10. Anyway, if you want to get rid of the jaggies, you have to use the antialiased mode - Flash preview, I think it was, but be aware that it's not very accurate with regard to things like stroke weight and such... it is after all a preview for Flash as opposed to a proper aa view.

Anyway, I usually set up my own document templates with regard to things like view mode, page orientation and resolution, rulers or not, location on the artboard, etc. Saves a lot of time.
