Snap to Grid feature
I recently upgraded from Acrobat 5 (on OS 9) to Acrobat 7 on OS X (10.4, Intel). Much appears to have changed in the upgrade. For one, I cannot locate the Snap to Grid feature anywhere (except for passing references to it in a few of the web-based tutorials). It is not in the VIEW menu as it was in version 5. Also, there appears to be no way to select objects on a page (to nudge or move them), a feature I relied on in preparing documents for a friend's quirky printer.
Are these features available only in the PRO version?
Thanks for any help.

Re: Snap to Grid feature
You want the Object TouchUp tool for moving objects on the page - see the Advanced Editing Toolbar.
I don't recall a "Snap to Grid" feature in Acrobat 5. What sort of thing(s) are you snapping?

Re: Snap to Grid feature
In Acrobat 5 on Mac:
Objects (or fields) can be "snapped" to the nearest grid line when using the View>Snap To Grid menu. The grid itself can be customized in Edit>Preferences>General>Layout Grid.
======
Acrobat Standard 7 on Mac:
There is no Object TouchUp Tool in the version of Acrobat Standard 7.0 that I received.
In the Tools>Advanded Editing menu I can choose: Select Object, Article, Crop, Link, Digital Signature or TouchUp Text. (All of these end with the word "Tool").
Using "Select Object Tool" all I can access is the text fields, not the entire contents of a page.
Is the ability to move the contents of a page available ONLY in the Pro version?

Re: Snap to Grid feature
George,
Although perhaps this is not made so clear by Adobe, the Standard version of Acrobat is intended for general office workers. All significant editing features are in the Professional version, not the Standard, including the TouchUp Object tool.

Re: Snap to Grid feature
IF you get Version 8 Thankfully on the Mac Platform only, you are only able to get Pro. Adobe has found Apple users can pretty much do all that Standard can just by using the system on Mac.
PC's can't The natural viewing and printing on Mac is through a PDF engine.
Now, on the PC platform has three different items they can purchase. And depending what the PC user needs he may have to buy two of the three times to get all he needs.
Warning!: you can only use on Mac OS 4.3 and above. If tyou have Mac OSX.4.2 and lower your out of Luck.
