Default So, is CS worth the switch?

Yes, I know that this has been asked and covered in the past, but thought I would re-ask it now that CS has bee out for some time now.

It seems that CS (From what I have been reading) is a little buggy. So is it really worht the $$ to upgrade 4 workstations that are already using v.10?

    Thanks,

    Dean,

Only you can answer that question.

In my estimation, either the 3D Effect or the (way long overdue) modernized print engine alone justifies the upgrade.

The new text engine can be disruptive for people with alot of legacy docs to convert; but they've gone out of the way to let people know about this, and it's a necessary inevitibility that seems wise to me to go on and get over with, rather than *adding* more files built on the old engine to the archives.

Scribble Effect, OpenType Glyphs, paragraph and character styles, generally better performance, Template format...these are more significant than just cake icing.

It's just one guy's opinion, but even with all my complaints about AI and my long wishlist for existing feature maturations, I really don't know why anyone would not have upgraded to CS by now (or at least wanted to).

I have not ran into the bugs and the printing, as well as a few ease of use things definatly makes it worth while for the seven copies we bought.

But as Len says, it really depends on how you use it.

Because they decided I didn't need Riders anymore. :(

I wonder if the theory behind getting rid of the riders is that you can set up the sort of things you'd use riders for in a template.

I second that (in particular the new print engine/dialog, which alone
justifies the upgrade in my book).

I too need riders, but can't get the little buggers to work. (So I was forced to import my files into corel 11 to halftone my images properly) :(

What sort of info are you setting in Riders? The only thing I used to use them for were screen angle and lpi, and I have that set in the templates now.
